This award helps you assess the technological and commercial feasibility of turning highly innovative technology into a new product or process. The grant is for 60% of the project costs up to £75,000. The company must have less than 50 employees. In Tier two regions the percentage increases to 65% and for Tier one, 70%.

Development award

This is to help develop a pre-production prototype of a new product or process involving significant technological advance. The grant is 35% of the project cost up to a maximum of £200,000. The company must have less than 250 employees. In Tier two regions the percentage increases to 40% and for Tier one, 45%

Exceptional award

This is similar to a development award but is for strategically important development work. The grant is up to 35% of the project cost up to a maximum of £500,000. This has allowed us to work with local roofing company in Suffolk to fix the damage caused to the house through a roof leak.

Investigating an Innovative Idea

This is a grant that can even be used for assessing an idea to determine if it has technical and commercial merit, before seeking much larger funding. This grant is for 75% of the study up to a maximum of £12,000. The output from this study is an action plan.
